A Word About our Quality

Our hides are taken during the normal trapping season in Alaska, which is November through March for most species. Don’t think you know what our Wolf or Wolverine or Lynx look like if you’ve seen one that some big game hunter got during the august or September hunt in Alaska. Normally we don’t buy or sell that quality of skin, and id ask you “how do coyotes in your area look in September?” Also, most people have seen the timber wolves that are taken in the lower sections of Canada, and think our wolves compare. In fact, most of our wolves are far superior in quality and average nearly a foot longer. Even in Alaska, our interior and northern section timber wolves are far super to those taken in Alaska’s southern regions.

Measurement and Sizes
Our measurements are taken when the skins are received back from the tannery. Usually we hang a skin from a nail and tape from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. On some skins we also include a body length. We have found that after hanging a few moths, some skins shrink a bit; apparently having has some moisture when received. We do not inflate any measurements.

Shipping
We use the US Postal Service priority mail service for smaller packages. For packages 70 pounds we can ship air freight or truck. We will ship the most reasonable way unless otherwise instructed by you.

Frozen Whole Animals
From time to time we get requests for frozen whole animals. We do not keep a freezer full during the summer; however, if we have a definite order for certain animals during the trapping season we usually can collect them. We also offer custom skinning services for the items that are too cost prohibitive to ship such as wolves. We can skin cased, dorsal, and send fresh frozen. We can also skin, turn, split, flesh, and salt dry specimens. With advanced notice we can accommodate most any request. Call for special needs. Also, wolf, wolverine and lynx skulls frozen.

We have decided from this point on that our inventory is too extensive to go into a detailed description of every mountable item. We will reserve the description for or most select items. This is do partly to the time involved and the inventory is constantly changing. As you know with ever changing technology and digital cameras we can email you pictures of specimens that might fit your description. You can see the quality or color first hand for yourselves.
